My birth place

Rosario is the city where I was born and where my parents and sister still live. It is located in the argentinian Pampas at about 200 miles from Buenos Aires, the capital. It grew from a little village without any known founder in the 18 th century, to the present metropolis with about a million inhabitants. Its harbor is the most important port of exit of our agricultural exports. The city lies by the Paraná river, whose sources are in the Mato Grosso in Brasil, 1500 miles from Rosario. Its waters end up into the La Plata river a few miles north from Buenos Aires, precisely where I am living right now. This delta area is full of typical artisans who make beautiful crafts using straw and fruits coming from the thousands of islands in front of Tigre, the main town near the delta.

Benavidez, Tigre: where I live now

In spite of the great popularity of Tigre among tourists, the place still maintains part of its old flair. Local fruits and crafts are sold in the traditional Fruits Market by the docks of a domestic harbor on one of the thousands of streams and small rivers that make up the Paraná river delta. The harbor feeds the needs of all the ones living on the delta islands and allows the exchange of goods between the town dealers and the islanders.
Tigre lays 20 miles north from the geographical center of Buenos Aires. I had lived nearby in 2005 and since I love aquatic sports, the water sight and crafts, this sounded the perfect place to be in contact with nature while close and communicated to the great city.

Benavídez is a very small town located in the Tigre area, where I actually live. Benavídez is called the "residential Tigre" due to its lack of factories or big malls. Instead, there are many country houses and some private neighbourhoods for well-off classes. An example is the house in the picture, which, of course, is not mine.
